A distinguished meditation master came to town these past weeks. Both myself and my pal happened to stumble upon the notification of his arrival to give teachings in our mailbox.
We don’t check our mails regularly and when being presented with such news of so and so meditation masters or teachers coming to town to give teachings etc…we don’t always flock to these types of teachings as if we are hungry wolves. I have a tendency to listen to my inner voice, to decide which and what kind of meditation teachings to go for. Many times, learning too many meditation methods may not be so good for oneself; it all depends on individuals and their learning curves.
Some of us can do very well with just one or two meditation techniques, others may need to go for and receive more teachings. Some need to meditation alone for maximum benefits; while others need group meditation practice to sustain the practice and sessions…there is no wrong or right about this.
So this time round, i listened to my own inner voice again. And both myself and my pal decided to go for this teaching - the Phowa meditation method. One needs to be initiated in order to receive and practise this type of meditation method. The master is quite a distinguished rinpoche. The cards are positive; it is quite clear that it would be auspicious if we go for the teachings! 
It is a good learning meditation experience; and we feel very blessed and fortunate to be able to receive such a rare teaching, especially from an authentic meditation and buddhist master!
